Anytime you visit the front office the staff is clueless as to what is going on or what you are asking about. They are extremely unprofessional and rude. Save yourself the money and misery and rent across the street at the Plantation.
Being that they changed management companies 1/2 way through our lease they had new fees and rent increase that they billed me for. I contacted the office several times in an attempt to either have these stupid fees waved or to allow me to sign a new (shorter) lease. They did not agree to having me sign a new lease, but said they would be happy to wave the fees since they were not included in our original lease agreement, yet every single month I received an ugly letter on my door letting me know I owed for previous months of "unpaid fees". Again, after contacting the office several times nothing was ever done. When moving out we gave the required 30 day written notice of evacuation. They kept 75% of our deposit for a "bath tub resurfacing" fee and a "cleaning fee". I left the apartment in a way cleaner state than I received it in.
I find out I will have a family of cockroaches. Families of cockroaches, actually. If you don't like cockroaches, find another place.
Stayed here for around 1.5 years from mid 2014 and leaving sometime in 2015.
Avoid like the plague. This place is a dump.
Speaking of dump, you can often find overfilled dumps. There's sometimes garbage in the road as a result.
This seemed like a fairly priced apartment complex in a pretty nice area. My roommate and I were approved and we were ready to move in. My soon to be roommate receives a call our apartment is going to be under going a full renovation....THREE DAYS BEFORE WE MOVE IN. I was moving in from another state up north and I had all my belongings being delivered. If my roommate hadn't contacted me telling me about this, I wouldn't have found out. No offer to move us to another apartment, or get us hotel rooms for the time being. Could I have sued? Maybe.
I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews posted here. I have been living at The Landing Apartments since December 2015 and I absolutely love it and am grateful to call this place home. The maintenance crew has resolved ALL of my issues within 24 hours and the staff has been nothing but nice, helpful and very positive. I would and have recommended this complex to several friends and will continue to do so. I look forward each and every day to leave work and go "home".
I've known a few people to live here and their complaint is always the same: Management is awful. They don't seem to care about their customers and refuse to work with them at all. It really upsets me to hear a business run so poorly and doesn't surprise me at all that the ratings for this place are so low. Definitely consider taking your business elsewhere. There are much better places to live in Lafayette.
Water leaking from the ceiling down to bed room. I had to move the bed out. Called emergency maintenance number so many times but still no response. Submitted maintenance request on their website 4 times and still no response. The ceiling is very soft and going to collapse soon. I don't know what to do. Office is closed, emergency maintenance number not working. Horrible management.
As 2 year residents at the awful Landing apartments we finally ended our misery. At the beginning of our lease in 2014 the complex was under the management of a different company than the current one. Our leasing agent was so sweet and extremely helpful. When we moved in we had several issues that were listed on the "move in survey" some of which were repaired, others never were. About 1 year into our lease the complex changed management companies as well as staffing. The new staff is simply awful. They make continuous promises they can't keep (such as replacing broken appliances) and are just down right rude. When contacting the leading office regarding a problem, plan to call or visit them several times before any effort is made. ( examples: 2 of the burners on the 1972 stove went out and it took nearly 1 week to have it repaired, even though I called about it daily. The ceiling fan in our dining room was causing lights to short out and smoke, yet it took nearly 3 months to have it replaced. The 1980 refrigerator stopped working at 10 pm one night. 2 days later a "temporary replacement" was brought to our apartment and then 2 weeks later a new refrigerator was finally brought to us.)The apartments are old and in need of renovations. They include a fee for "pest" control yet their is no control. When we originally signed our lease we were told exterminators go every 3 months. Over 2 year time span we lived there I saw the exterminator once and had a note on my door the second time letting me know the exterminator had been there. Otherwise no pest control was done. The landscape is not tended so it promotes excessive ants, spiders, roaches, etc. You will also be charged a monthly pet fee in addition to your pet deposit. Still not sure what the pet fee is for.
Lease at The Plantation instead
I move out a month before my lease ends (mind you, I paid in full in my first month, just to avoid any late fees). I get a bill to my new address for the utilies. I had apparently cancelled it too early. It is in the fine print, no denying that. This fine print which no one knows about, even the ladies in the office who told me I could cancel it with no consequences. My fault? Maybe on paper. They don't know what they are doing.
So, off to a bad start. I figure this was a one time thing. I find out I am not going to be just living with just my roommate. No, that would be too simple. Far too simple.
