It is nice to have a mall still in use. The new trend away from malls is sad. Acadiana Mall offers many top name brand stores in one easy to access location. Great environment. Parking lot is a little rough and could use a new top coat.
Blame the less-than-classy clientele or the pushy salespeople at the kiosks lining the center of every single wing.
I'm not sure where the fault lay, but I do know that Acadiana Mall is the last place I think of as a shopping destination and when I do go, I go begrudgingly.
Love this mall. Very upbeat atmosphere. Nice variety of stores. Great selection in their food court. I always make a point to visit this mall when I visit Lafayette
Blame it on the lack of a sit-in restaurant or the dwindling options in the food court.
However, I doubt anything can save Acadiana Mall from going the way of so many other malls across America.
Blame it on the loss of Sears and the lack of excitement over the other three anchor stores.
Acadiana Mall has been "The Mall" for Lafayette since my childhood in the 80s. There were 4 anchor stores but Sears closed and now it's JCPenney, Dillard's, and Macy's. The whole mall was remodeled a few years back so it doesn't have a dated feel which is nice! There are skylights so plenty of natural light comes in. It's not a very large mall. If you were walking at a brisk pace you could probably make the circuit in 15 minutes and it's only one story besides the anchors.
Always something to do in the mall there are multiple shopping stores you can buy anything you want and move on to the next one it's a great please to shop and if you want to have your eyes checked you can get yourself some new eyeglasses...excellent place to shop
They've done a refresh in the last few years that has brightened up the place, earning them a third star.
