My son has been a patient of Dr. Piccione's since he was 4 months old and now he is 15 years old. Dr. Piccione performed strabismus surgery to correct my son's eye turn when he was only 10.5 months old. It was amazing how once the alignment of his eyes was corrected how much my son started pulling up on furniture and even playing with toys the correct way. Dr. Piccione also treated my son for Amblyopia. We patched his right eye for treatment and the results were great. It is also very comforting that when you go to an appointment you see familiar faces since some of his staff has been with him since we starting see him as a patient.
Dr. Piccione is so patient and works so well with my 1 year old. He is thorough and very informative. The staff is very helpful as well. It is such a great experience every time we go!
We started seeing Dr Piccione years ago... He has seen my 4 children for routine checkups every few years. We have always been pleased with he and his staffs thoroughness and professionalism. About a year ago, my 2 year olds left eye started to wander slightly. It wasn't very noticible and he was an otherwise healthy, active 2yo. We saw Dr Piccione and he ordered an MRI which detected a brain stem tumor. Dr Piccione had to make that phone call that I imagine is a doctors worst nightmare, however he did it with the utmost compassion and professionalism. He advised us to go to St Jude's and we were in Memphis the very next day. Dr Piccione had the expertise and knowledge to order that MRI which saved my son. The doctors at St Jude's praised Dr Piccione for his swift plan of action and noted that we caught this tumor very early. Words just cant convey how very grateful we are!! Lafayette is very fortunate to have such an amazing pediatric ophthalmologist!!
Dr Piccione is an excellent doctor and has a great staff working for him. He is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to his patients. His staff is courteous and professional and even in the chaos of his busy schedule and many patients, seems to run a well maintained and efficient office.
I have trusted him for many years now to treat and care for my children, and now my grandchildren are some of his "newer" patients. I trust and recommend this practice for all your children's eye care needs.
