I was patted down 3 times, and my bags were searched twice!!! The worst airport experience ever, and no apology! The spirit of molestation is in this airport!!!!
I love flying out of Lafayette. How many other airports take less than 5 minutes to walk through security? Walk 5 minutes from the gate to pick up your bags, too. I fly out of the major surrounding airports and find everyone just as competent that work for the airlines in LFT as others airports. It certainly would be nice to have amenities big airports have, but then we would need a revenue source to fund it (tax).
It's a small regional airport with limited services.
Convenient small airport. Beats driving and flying out of NOLA. Decent bar and Cafe while you wait
LFT is a small regional airport. There's aren't many options for food and drink and the bar is outside of security. So if you want to have an adult beverage while you wait, you have to do so outside of security. However, they do make announcements to alert you when you need to make your way through security for your flight. I think it's such a considerate thing to do! The TSA agents were friendly and polite, the gate agents were beyond helpful. This all made for an easy going and stressless start to my travel day. I traveled on American Airlines
The snack shop addition inside the gate area is a nice addition. The rental car parking is in an inconvenient location and was not well marked.
